Ada2cc Downloading Problems
I get the message "The page cannot be displayed" (MS Internet Explorer)
You must use the File menu - "Login As..." option to set login
anonymously with a legitimate email address as the password.
I get the message "The response mozilla@ is not valid..." (Netscape Navigator)
You must use the Edit menu - "Preferences..." option to set
Send e-mail address as anonymous ftp password in the advanced pick.
You must also set an email address in the "Mail & Newsgroups" pick (Identity)
(If you set only the email address field, netscape will not become your
email program.)
I get the message "Login Incorrect"
The probable cause of this is that the Domain Name Service (DNS) for your
Internet Connection is not correctly configured to provide a name for your
computer. Our ftp service requires that we obtain a valid domain name for
all downloads.
Nothing happens. I get a timeout when trying to connect to the server.
This may be caused by several things. If you are behind a corporate firewall, you may not have your browser properly configured -or- you may not be allowed to use ftp services - In either case, check with your system administrator.
One other problem, is that a few browsers and caching servers may misdirect you to 'ada2cc.com' rather than 'ftp.ada2cc.com'. If all else fails, try using your browser to open ftp://ftp.ada2cc.com/pub/demos/ada2cc directly. This will display a simple list of files available for downloading.
